Creative artistic mediums and platforms serve as powerful tools for young people to develop critical thinking skills and engage with broader cultural issues. Through the use of diverse mediums like digital art, photography, film, music, and writing, young artists can explore and express complex societal topics.

These platforms not only allow for personal expression but also enable young creators to communicate their perspectives to a wider audience, thereby raising awareness and stimulating public discourse. By engaging with these mediums, young people learn to analyze, reflect, and articulate their thoughts on the world around them, fostering a more informed and empathetic society.

OUR STRATEGIES

NARRATIVE CHANGE COHORT

A PUBLIC LEADERSHIP PATHWAY is a cohort training to use storytelling, journalism, film and media as tools for civic engagement and systemic change. Young people develop critical leadership skills—such as public speaking, strategic communication, facilitation, and advocacy—by shaping counter-narratives that elevate underrepresented voices and influence public discourse and decision-making.

YAFEST (YOUNG ARTISTS FESTIVAL)

A CULTURAL ORGANIZING PATHWAY celebrates the talents of young artists, offering a platform for artistic growth, allowing aspiring artists to explore their creativity. By showcasing young creators, the festival not only honors their achievements but also encourages their professional growth. Attendees can enjoy diverse performances, workshops, and exhibitions, fostering a community where young artists can connect and learn from industry professionals.

SPEAKFREELY

A LEGAL AND MUTUAL AID PATHWAY supports young individuals navigating the complexities of free speech, copyright, and privacy laws, supporting an environment where youth can express themselves openly while understanding their rights and responsibilities. SpeakFreely also provides resource sharing to creative tools and equipment.

YOUTH CORRESPONDENT FELLOWS

An ENTREPRENEUR AND EDUCATION PATHWAY builds opportunities for youth fellows to work alongside grassroots and institutional media sources to become effective media leaders to enhance their skills in Public Journalism and Civic Education to challenge harmful narratives and empower youth as journalists.

YOUTH SUMMIT

A CULTURAL ORGANIZING PATHWAY is a gathering of young leaders engaging in discussions, workshops, and sessions to deepen their understanding and foster global citizenship. The summit empowers young leaders to champion human rights, advocate for justice, and lead environmental initiatives for a sustainable future.
